Sunglasses

When buying sunglasses (with or without prescription) always look for a British Standard Mark, a UV 400 label or a European CE Mark.
This ensures your lenses provide adequate protection from both UVA and UVB light. The British Standard sets performance levels for quality, strength, stability, design and manufacture as well as the amount of UV light they let through.
We would generally encourage you to choose a frame that is slightly larger than your usual spectacles as the larger surface area of coverage will minimise light seepage.
The question when choosing your sun-specs is whether or not to go for polarised lenses which are highly effective in reducing sun glare thus providing excellent visual comfort.
Most fishermen and sailors are already in the know about polarised lenses as they eradicate the glare off the water - a must when searching for the one that got away!
