Wallace Opticians was founded in Shotts over 55 years ago by Matt Wallace. The business was relocated to Whitburn when son Robert (Bob) Wallace succeeded his father.
In 2015, Elinor Todd took over the business - having worked as a locum in the practice for over a decade prior. Her tenure is well summarised with her quote given to the press:
"Whitburn has a strong sense of community spirit and Wallace Opticians has long benefitted from both this and the loyal custom of its people"
In 2021, Alan Conway became the new owner-Optometrist upon Elinor's retirement. In the post-pandemic era, Alan aims to preserve the core philosophy of the practice - service to the community and maintaining the tradition of a high level of customer experience instituted by the Wallace's over half a century prior.
